Description
Polychrome Jasper is from the island of Madagascar and one of the most diverse materials I’ve ever knapped. Here’s a 4″ Northern Sidenotch point made from a rather uniquely patterned piece I came across. The Northen Sidenotch projectile point has become a favorite of mine. It was made and used during the Early Archaic period, around 8000-9000 years ago. Though these people didn’t have access to Polychrome Jasper, I’m sure they would have loved its beauty and excellent working properties.
